Stocks Hold Onto Gains After Fed Minutes

The stock market held onto modest gains after minutes from the Federal Reserve’s July meeting highlighted a split among central bankers. The Nasdaq Composite was up 0.2%. There were three dissenters, which were all Fed presidents who wanted to raise interest rates by a quarter of a point.
