Wall Street Buys Staples and Sells Chips, Sending Nasdaq Down 2%

The Nasdaq couldn’t escape a global selloff that sent chip stocks tumbling on Tuesday. The tech-heavy index tumbled 2.2%. The S&P 500 fell 1.4%. The Dow dropped 45 points, or 0.1%. The Nasdaq's fall was mostly driven by a sharp slide in chip stocks.
